Birth Packages - How much does a birth cost?

Prices are the same for birth center or home birth. Our maternity package includes the following services:

Care with a Utah-licensed, direct-entry midwife and midwife assistant (MW Assist’s fee included)
Client goodie bag with choice of free book and educational materials (with paid deposit)
Comprehensive prenatal visits in our office
For an additional fee of $1250, we offer all visits in the comfort of your own home
One Ultrasound
Access to BMB's comprehensive Lending Library - books, DVDs and course materials on Pregnancy and Childbirth
24-hour access to a midwife at 36 weeks
Availability of Standard Process supplements
Continuous labor, birth, and immediate postpartum care for Mother & Baby
Birth Kit
Water birth pool and liner for home birth
Filing of official state birth certificate and application for Social Security number
Newborn Hearing Screening
Newborn Metabolic Screening
Newborn CCHD Screening (heart defect screening)
Postpartum visits for Mother & Baby at 24-48 hours, two weeks, six weeks and 24/7 breastfeeding support by phone or visit for the first 10 days postpartum

*Early Pay discounted price. Additional discounts are available: Late to care transfers after 30 weeks: discounts available with proof of prior care. International clients - (flat fee of $6100) Care starting after 30 weeks of pregnancy. We also have a sliding scale based on income. Every client should be able to have midwifery care if they desire. Please ask for details!

The following services, if required, are NOT included, and are the responsibility of the client.

All Routine Labs; Will be billed to your insurance or offered at a discounted rate for cash clients.
Rhogam injections for prevention of Rh isoimmunization ($250+);
Non-stress testing, Biophysical Profile & postdates in-home monitoring (various);
Physician, hospital, laboratory, and anesthesia charges;
EMS charges for emergency services in the home and/or transport to hospital, if needed;
Independent Childbirth Education class fees (we highly recommend Hypnobabies);
Independent Birth and/or Postpartum Doula fees... etc...
Urgent care visits
Blood typing for mom or baby
Antibiotics if wanted for GBS in labor

We will discuss and secure a payment plan that accommodates your personal budgetary needs. Our midwives have caps on the number of clients they take each month. Your slot on our schedule is secured when your deposit is paid ($1000). We recommend this be paid at your first or second prenatal visit. If you feel you need assistance with payment, please let us know. Full payment is due by 36 weeks. We will bill insurance after the birth for reimbursement of your fee per your request in your financial contract.

We do change our prices to stay competitive in the market and adjust for inflation. Pricing is subject to change without notice. Pricing agreements that are made in writing before the price change will be honored.
